It wasn’t a great day for track, with temperatures in the 80s and strong gusty winds out of the south, but the Heartland Invite had some exciting competition despite the weather.
Eight schools participated in the meet on Thursday, April 13th, at the Heartland Community School track. The Heartland Boys placed 3rd overall with a team score of 60 points. They dominated the 400 Meter Dash, with Trev Peters taking 1st place (54.15), Zach Quiring 2nd place (55.09), and Luis Alvarez coming in at 4th place (56.36).
The Heartland Girls finished with a team score of 44 points, placing 5th. They had great success in the pole vault, with Mariah Tessman making her first return since an injury, placing 1st with a 9-10.00 vault. Hallie Tessman placed 2nd (J7-10.00), Eloise Casper placed 3rd (J7-10.00), and in 4th place was Emersyn Oswald (J7.10.00).
