The Nebraska FBLA Fall Leadership Conference was held on September 26th in Kearney at the Younes Conference Center. The conference was a one-day workshop for FBLA officers and members.
Heartland Band Wins Big at Yorkfest Again
The Yorkfest Parade on Saturday, September 9, has come and gone, but the coveted traveling trophy will stay with the Heartland High School Band. Not only did the band win the 2023 Cornerstone Bank Governor’s Trophy for 1st overall band and 1st in C Class, but they will keep the Traveling Trophy—again.

Heartland Girls Golf Place First
t was an excellent start for the Heartland Girls' golf team at their first event on Thursday, August 17, at Valley View Golf Course outside of Central City. Team members Mia Hiebner and Tara Buzek fired a low record setting score of 63 placing first in the Division 1 competition.
Heartland Community School Special Election to Increase Tax Authority FAILED
It’s official and disappointing for the Heartland school district. The Special mail-in-only election with a resolution for Heartland to increase its tax authority request did not receive the required 60% approval needed.
Heartland Welcomes Seven New Certified Staff Members
Heartland Community Schools is welcoming seven new certified staff members this year in a variety of positions. "We feel very fortunate that we were able to hire some really good individuals for all the open positions," said Superintendent Jeremy Klein.
Heartland Huskie Football Preview
Under the guidance of experienced head coach Ben Lindsay, the Heartland Huskie football team plans on competing this year. Coach Lindsay has been at the helm for the past six years and served as an assistant for three years prior to taking the head coaching position.
