The Heartland varsity girls golf competed at the GICI Invite in Grand Island on Thursday. Junior Mia Hiebner placed fourth after losing a scorecard playoff for third place. She fired an 82 (41-41). Sophomore Tara Buzek placed 54th with a score of 134, and Emersyn Oswald placed fourth in the JV nine-hole flight with a 58.
This was a large invite with 15 schools competing: Adams Central, Broken Bow, Cambridge, Central City, GINW, Columbus Scotus, Grand Island Central Catholic, Fullerton, Gibbon, Minden, McCook, SRC, Southwest, and Sutton. KayLynn Jorgensen from Minden won the tournament, carding a low 72.
