HENDERSON, Neb. – A York County woman has posthumously honored a rural health care organization with a very generous gift.
Anna Wilcox, a York County farmland heiress, had a wish to give back to non-profit organizations in and around the York County area. In 1957, Wilcox passed away leaving her farm ground and estate to her nephew. Upon his passing, her will direct the land to be sold and the proceeds to be disseminated between 10 beneficiary organizations. One of those ten was Henderson Health Care Services.
In December 2021, Henderson Health Care Services received just over $500,000 from the Anna Wilcox Estate and earmarked it for operational expenses. Chief Financial Officer, Jill Myers, stated, “Our facility is humbled with the generous donation from the Anna Wilcox Estate. The support of donors like Anna Wilcox helps further the mission of Henderson Health Care Services and enable the expansion of services close to home for our patients.”
In the midst of a 3-year campus expansion and renovation effort, Henderson Health Care Services will use the gift toward the capital improvement project.
