Two unique Kids Day Camps will be held this summer at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park. The first one, “From Russia to America†is a fun morning reenacting the immigrants long journey from Russia to the Immigrant House near Henderson. Kids will pack their suitcases and learn firsthand what it was like to make an ocean voyage and cross country train ride before arriving in Henderson in 1874. It will be held Wednesday, July 13, 9:30-11:30 AM for kids who have completed K-8th grade.
The second one is “Vintage Games†on Wednesday, July 27, from 9:30-11:30 AM for kids who have completed K-8th grade. A fun time learning how to play a variety of vintage games—Dutch Tag, Croquet, Annie Annie Over, and MORE! Pre-register by calling LaVonne Thiessen at 402-723-4555 or email lthiessen@mainstaycomm.net.Â
There is a fee for each session but parents, grandparents, or caregivers are welcome to come and join in on the fun free of charge. Both camps will be held at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park located just north of Henderson on the west side of the spur.Â
