Over 100 people attended the Henderson Heritage & Tourism Fund-raiser Celebration Sunday afternoon.  As of Sunday, their capital campaign had raised $150,000 and recognized all donors at the program.  Henderson State Bank president, Kevin Postier and Steve Michel presented Henderson Heritage & Tourism with their second installment of $10,000 of their $50,000 pledge for five years.  Virgil Penner of Newton, Kansas stepped in as guest speaker because Dr. Lauren Friesen was forced to cancel his trip to Henderson due to the sudden illness of his wife.

Penner challenged the audience to help the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park become more than the buildings but a place where their story could be told and remembered by all visitors.  Afterwards, a traditional Faspa of zwieback, bologna, cheese, pickles and apple prieshka was served in the cafeteria.  HHT is pleased to announce that $15,000 was donated during the Faspa bringing them closer to their goal of $250,000.
