The Heartland Jr. High girls’ and boys’ track teams competed at the Sutton Invite on Monday, May 5.
Some highlights of the meet were a 1st place in the shot put for Jagger Regier with a 39’10” throw and a 1st place throw in the discus of 135’2″. Regier also came in second in the 800 with a time of 2:28.22. The boys’ 4 x 400 relay team placed 5th, clocking in at 4:30.74 (Ryker Stebbing, Micah Haidle, Heston Switzer, and Luke Janzen). Luke Janzen finished 4th in the 400-meter run at 59.08, Haidle in 5th at 59.68, and Regier 6th at 59.98.
For the girls, Maylee Friesen placed 4th in the 800-meter run at 2:57.39 and 6th in the 1600-meter run at 6:37.70.
