The Heartland girls’ and boys’ track teams traveled to Sandy Creek on Tuesday afternoon for their invite, where 11 schools competed. The boys finished in 4th place overall, scoring 69.5 points, and the girls placed 11th with 19.5 points.
The boys scored a few top finishes, with Enzo Okuyama scoring a scorching 1st-place 800-meter run of 2:03.89. Trenton Goertzen won the 1600-meter run with a 4:59.04. Tara Buzek had a first-place finish in the 800-meter run, improving her time to 2:27. 33.
