The Nebraska Mennonite Relief Sale is an annual Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) fundraiser. The two-day event is free to attend and features a variety of food offerings as well as an auction of quilts, furniture, tools, handmade items, gift baskets, toys, and more.
After 45 years of being held at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Aurora, the event will be held at a new location this year: the Holthus Convention Center in York, Nebraska, on March 28 and 29.
The food booths feature New Year’s Cookies, Apple Prieshka, meats, cheeses, pastries, homemade jelly, pie by the slice, pork sandwiches, and homemade ice cream bars. New this year is the Taco Bar Meal on Friday evening, serving from 4 – 7 p.m. Another change will be a combined auction of various items (quilts, comforters, wall hangings, crafts, furniture, etc.), which will be held from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
