The Huskie boys also had a slow start against the Milford Eagles, with only eleven points in the first quarter. Turnovers and poor shooting plagued them. They came out in the second quarter playing better defense, getting a few stops, and got within 10 points before halftime. Thane Wetjen came out firing in the third quarter, scoring the first two buckets, followed by Sam Quiring and Carter Siebert getting as close as 33-37.

The fourth quarter was a thriller, with the Huskies inching back into the game, tying it up at 45-45 at about the two-minute mark. The rest of the game was a flurry of turnovers by both teams, and when it was all over, the Huskies couldn’t capitalize and score their layups on the turnovers. Carter Siebert fouled out with a little over two minutes to go in the game, and the Eagles also had a player foul out after Siebert. With six seconds to go, it was a one-point game at 49-50.

The Eagles made two free throws, and the score was 49-52 with just a few seconds left on the clock. Luis Alvarez threw up a half-court shot that had a chance and would have put the game into OT. Instead, it was a heartbreaker for the Huskies, losing 49-52.
