Making the annual Heartland food drive happen is a big job! Here are some of the students who worked hard organizing the food items collected on the stage of the south gym.
The 2024 Heartland food drive organized by the students and sponsors of the FBLA, FFA, and National Honor Society chapters was a great success. Totes of non-perishable food and other personal and household items were delivered to 34 families in the Bradshaw and Henderson area by Heartland students. The items were donated by students, staff, and community members, starting with Can Caroling on December 9th.
Items were collected and organized until December 20th, when the items were sorted and packaged for delivery. In addition to the donated items, each family received a gift card to be used at Henderson Food Mart and a cured ham provided by an anonymous donor.
A contest was held between grade levels to donate the most items, and it was a really close contest this year. 2nd grade was the winning class with over 150 items donated. Mr. Reinke’s homeroom won the junior high division and the freshmen donated the most in the high school.
We continue to be blessed by the generous hearts of our communities and hope everyone has a wonderful 2025!
