The Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) versus Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program decision in 2025 will be discussed at this webinar hosted by the Nebraska USDA Farm Service Agency.
Date & Time: Jan 30, 2025, 12:00 PM in Central Time (US and Canada)
With: Cathy Anderson, Production and Compliance Programs Chief, Nebraska USDA Farm Service Agency; Dillon Breinig, Production and Compliance Programs Specialist, Nebraska USDA Farm Service Agency; and Brad Lubben, Extension Policy Specialist, UNL.
The 2018 Farm Bill was extended for another year after it was set to expire in 2023, and ag producers have another Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) versus Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program decision in 2025. Changing economic conditions, price projections, and underlying support levels for both ARC and PLC in 2025 mean that producers will want to give careful thought to another ARC v. PLC enrollment decision at the USDA Farm Service Agency.
This webinar will provide an update on farm programs details and decisions for 2025 and discuss the prospects of further farm bill development in the coming year. Breining will discuss farm program decisions for 2025 under the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage (ARC/PLC) commodity program safety net. Lubben will discuss the economics of the ARC v. PLC decision for 2025 and the broader farm bill issues and prospects still ahead.
The webinar will also include a brief discussion of what could be ahead for economic and disaster assistance payments. The ARC/PLC signup period is open through April 15, 2025
