Henderson’s local grocery store has been through many changes through the years and has a new owner as of last week!
According to Jim Mestl, who headed up the group of the former owners, Henderson Food Mart was sold to Jason Stephens last week. He is from Grand Island and owns three other grocery stores in Kansas and Blue Hill, Nebraska. About 12 years ago, a group of about 45 local investors purchased the grocery store in Henderson and have been managing it.
“We have sold the business to Jason, but a group of local investors will still own the building. We look forward to some good things happening with this new ownership,” said Mestl.
