Heartland junior Mia Hiebner had the lowest round of the day on Tuesday with a 72!

Heartland Junior Mia Hiebner was on fire at Lake Maloney Golf Club on the second day of the Class C Girls State Golf Meet, scoring a sizzling low 72 (37-35). Her day two score was the lowest round of the tournament.

Her two-day total of 156 tied with Minden junior KayLynn Jorgensen, who also shot a 156. She was only two strokes behind the winner, Senior Kara Suchsland from Minden, who won the meet with a two-day total of 154. Hiebner had finished day one 12 over, scoring an 84 (45-39), and today, with the help of three birdies, she kept her score at even par, finishing at 12 over for the two-day tournament.

“I’m extremely proud of Mia’s performance at State. She overcame some adversity during the first round and was able to finish the day strong.  The second round was simply amazing. Mia was so focused on her game throughout the day, and her final score at the end of the round reflected it. She worked so hard throughout the season, and her strong finish at State was well deserved,” said Coach Buzek.
