Mia Hiebner had a great week, winning two tournaments. On Tuesday, she played at Southern Hills and won first place, and on Thursday, she brought home another first-place medal at the Centura Invite at Centura Hills Golf Course in Cairo. She posted an 82 (38-44), six shots better than second-place finisher Daleni Knust from West Holt. Hiebner improved her score from last year at Centura when she shot an 86, for third place.
Tara Buzek (54-53) and Emersyn Oswald (53-55) both improved their play, placing 13th and 14th, helping Heartland capture third place in the team standings. Other Heartland golfers Kinsley Friesen (69-79) and Meggan Friesen (80-73) contributed to the team effort.
This meet featured 15 teams: Arcadia/Loup City, Burwell, Doniphan-Trumbull, Centura, Fullerton, Gibbon, Kearney Catholic, Northwest JV, Ravenna, St. Paul, Shelby-Rising City, Superior, West Holt, and Wood River.
The district golf meet will be held at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lincoln next Monday, October 7th.
