Come out to the park for this fun and unique event and learn firsthand the immigrant experience. The Russia to America Camp is a fun afternoon reenacting the immigrant’s long journey from Russia to the Immigrant House near Henderson. Join us to hear the captivating true stories of Henderson’s 1874 immigrants and their journey to America. This event is open to all, from children to grandparents, offering a unique learning experience for each age group. Dressing up in period clothing is a fun option for those who wish to immerse themselves in the historical setting.

It will be held on Tuesday, June 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. for all ages. Reserve your spot by either calling Heritage Park at 402-723-5694 and leaving a message, calling Suzanne at 402-694-8669, or emailing csratz@mainstaycomm.

The camp will be held at Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park, located just north of Henderson on the west side of the spur. Henderson Heritage & Tourism sponsors the camp.

Immigrants listen to their pastor in Russia before leaving on their long journey to Nebraska and say goodbye to their loved ones who stayed behind.
