Last night, the boys’ and girls’ baseball and softball teams continued semi-final tournament play. The girls played in Sutton, and the boys competed in Hampton. Three Henderson teams will play in the championship games tonight: Henderson Green Boys against Henderson Maroon and Henderson Navy Girls against Aurora Red!
In Sutton, the Henderson Hot Pink and Henderson Navy teams faced off in a back-and-forth battle. Hot Pink led early at 3-2 but got behind by as many as 3 runs when Navy roared ahead to 6-3. Hot Pink slowly got back in the game and tied it at 6-6 at the bottom of the 3rd inning. The tide turned again when Navy regained the lead at 10-7. It was a nailbiter to the final inning, but Navy prevailed, winning 10-9.
Henderson Navy will play in the championship game tonight at 8 p.m. in Henderson against Aurora Red, and Hot Pink will play in the consolation game at 6 p.m. in Henderson against Phillips for third place.
GIRLS TOURNAMENT BRACKET
On the boys’ side, both Henderson teams won their semifinal games and will face off in Giltner tonight at 8 p.m. in the championship game. The Henderson Maroon team defeated Phillips 7-4, and the Henderson Green team defeated Giltner 5-2. The boys’ consolation game will be Phillips against Giltner at 6 p.m. for third place.
