Last year’s “Fun Facts & Stories of Henderson’s Past” luncheon was such a hit they are bringing it back!

Last year, Henderson Heritage & Tourism hosted its first “Fun Facts & Stories of Henderson’s Past” luncheon.  Since it was such a hit, they are bringing it back again this year with new information and fun facts.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the Henderson Heritage Mennonite Park in the Agricultural building.

Last year’s event had plenty of yummy salads for those who attended the luncheon!

Over the years, while researching Henderson’s history and working on other historical projects, volunteers have discovered some unique and often unknown facts about Henderson. The committee thought this event would be a fun way to share some of the nuggets and stories they’ve been collecting.

Have you ever wondered who the first woman to serve on Henderson’s City Council was? It happened in 1991. Come to this salad luncheon and presentation by volunteers in the Agricultural Building to find out more.

Reservations are required before the event, and tickets are $20 each. To sign up, please call Heritage Park at 402-723-5694, Suzanne Ratzlaff at 402-694-8669, or stop by the Visitor’s Center from Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 4 PM.

The Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park is located 1 1/2 miles south of Henderson exit #342.
