The Class C-4 District golf meet was held Tuesday, May 14, at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island, where the Heartland Huskie boys competed for a trip to State. Junior Creighton Friesen qualified with his round of 80 (38-42), placing 10th. He will be heading to Columbus next week to compete at State. The boys had a perfect weather day at the meet, with little wind, sunny, and temperatures in the 70s. Brycen Schweenka from Minden won the meet, shooting a low score of 72. Heartland placed 6th overall in the team rankings with a 345. St. Paul won the meet with their low team score of 319.

End of the season comments from Head Coach Chad Buzek:

I’m very proud of the boys and the season they had. Zach, Austin, and Jack all finished the season strong with PRs. Andrew had a great senior season with a PR of 74 and won the Superior meet. Creighton had another strong season and accomplished his goal of returning to State. With three varsity golfers returning, the outlook for next season looks very promising.
