Along with the great weather on Saturday, the Henderson Home Show was hopping with vendors and visitors. The Henderson Community Foundation put on the Pancake Feed first thing in the morning, and for lunch, it was all about the award-winning chili cookoff. There were eight entries this year, and three were awarded special prizes. Chamber Director Kaelea Saulsberry was pleased with the turnout and enthusiasm at this year’s event.

Outside the entrance to the gym, Grace Children’s Home had two of their equine therapy horses on hand for visitors to view up close and learn about how they are used to help special needs children.

In the Chili Cook-off sponsored by the Henderson Chamber, BJ Sievers won “Best Traditional Chili,” Arlin Hiebner won “Crowd Favorite,” and Jen Rose won “Best Non-Traditional Chili.”

The Henderson Heritage & Tourism booth was a popular spot for visitors to watch videos from the 1974 100th anniversary celebration of the first Mennonites coming to Henderson.
