Halloween was in full swing yesterday on Henderson’s Main Street during the annual Halloweenie Roast and Trunk or Treat event. Trick-or-treaters were treated well, enjoying a free hot dog meal provided by the Henderson Recreation Department. There were plenty of creatively decorated trunks for treats, and several businesses opened their doors for trick-or-treaters to come inside for treats.
“It was a great success despite the cold. The Henderson Chamber board and I are so thankful for such a wonderful community to serve,” said Henderson Chamber of Commerce Director Kaelea Saulsberry.
Heartland FBLA members were on hand to volunteer to serve the hot dog meal at the Henderson Police Station along with members from the Henderson Rec Department. Chief Prusia was in charge of grilling the hundreds of hot dogs they served during the event.

Kroeker & Kroeker Insurance created a candy tube for kids to fill their bags, and the police station garage was busy and a warm place to enjoy the free hot dog meal provided.
Just a few of the creative costumes parading down Main Street! Gage & Laini Meyer and their two boys, Cashton and Cade, had a real old western theme going. “Cade said he wanted to be a horse, so we went with it!” said Laini.
