The Heartland Girls’ Golf team had a busy week playing in two meets, with Mia Hiebner coming home with first-place medals at both of them.
They played a triangular with Sutton and Fullerton on Tuesday, September 5th, at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Sutton. Hiebner placed first, scoring a 41 for nine holes. Tara Buzek shot a 69 for the Huskies.
On Thursday, September 7th, the Huskies hosted their own invite at Galaway Creek Golf Course in Henderson. Other schools competing at the Heartland Invite were Fullerton, Grand Island Northwest, Sutton, Exeter-Milligan-Friend, Superior, and Tri-County.
Hiebner took advantage of her home course with a winning score of 83 (41-42) for first place. She edged out Keila Dubas from Fullerton, who carded an 84 (41-43). In third place was Tierney Russell from Fullerton with an 88 (47-41), and 4th place was Abbie Miton from EMF with an 89 (43-46).
Tara Buzek from Heartland scored a 132 (69-63).
