Mia Hiebner wraps up the regular golf season, winning her 5th individual first-place medal as she heads to District Golf next week.
The Heartland Huskies went to Southern Hills in Hastings on Tuesday, where Mia Hiebner once again came home with a first-place medal. Her round of 80 (40-40) was three shots better than the 2nd place finish from Adams Central’s Sidney O’Dey, who shot an 83 (41-42).
Other top finishers were Taylor McGuire, Kearney Catholic, 84 (39-45); Peyton Hartman, Adams Central, 89 (40-49); and Avery Robinson, Sutton, 90 (46-44). The Adams Central team won the meet.

On Thursday, the Huskies competed at The Centura Invite at Centura Hills Golf Course in Cairo. Teams competing were Arcadia/Loup City, Burwell, Doniphan-Trumbull, Fullerton, Gibbon, Kearney Catholic, Northwest, Ravenna, Shelby-Rising City, St. Paul, Superior, and West Holt.
Hiebner shot an 86 (41-45), giving her third place after her tie at 2nd place was determined by the highest handicapped hole on the scorecard. Winning the invite was Taylor McGuire from Kearney Catholic, scoring an 81 (40-41). Second place went to Daleni Knust from West Holt, scoring 86 (41-45). The West Holt golf team won first place.
Next week, the district golf meet will be held on Monday, October 1, at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lincoln.
