Due to temperatures hovering at record highs this week over 100 degrees, the 18-hole Doniphan-Trumbull Golf Invite was shortened to playing only nine holes on Tuesday, August 22. Heartland’s Mia Hiebner was also heating up, firing a 42 at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island, placing second individually. Hiebner was only one shot off the lead of Peyton Hartman from Adams Central, who posted a 41, winning the meet.
Nine teams were competing at the invite, and Adams Central came away with the team win with a score of 197. In second place was Grand Island Central Catholic, scoring 200, and third was Grand Island Northwest at 247.
