This year’s Henderson Community Days theme is HENDE 365: “Stitching Together Our Heritage.” Enjoy a quilt block journey of activities for everyone in Henderson this July 14 – 16th.
NEW THIS YEAR: A passport that participants can get stamped at every event they attend. Three Winners will be chosen with the top number of stamps on their passport and will win Chamber Bucks. Passports may be picked up at the Henderson Foodmart or City Hall.
A slip and slide will be set up at Lakeview Park next to the sand volleyball court, where participants can cool off in the heat and have water fights with refillable water balls. There is no cost for this new event, and all ages are welcome. No water guns or water balloons will be allowed.
A Christian band out of Nashville called “One Common” will perform Friday night from 6:45 – 8 PM in the downtown park. The band features the duo Carlos and Michael Ubinas, specializing in sanctifying secular songs.
The egg drop is back this year and will be held at the north end of Main Street near the Henderson Health Mart. A telehandler will be used to drop eggs for this catching competition. There will be three age groups: preschool, elementary, and middle school. The eggs will be dropped from various heights (based on the age group) for the kids to catch, and through elimination, each group will have one winner.
There’s no need for cooking at home over Henderson Community Days! Look at all the meals available throughout the celebration. If you head over to the 24th Annual Car Show, there is a lunch stand available as well on Saturday.
It’s a jam-packed weekend, so take a look at the itinerary so you don’t miss anything. Here are some events to preregister for: Registration is available at Galaway Creek Golf Course for Glowball Golf Friday at 9 PM and the 2-Person Golf Scramble Sunday at 12 PM.
