It was a fantastic weekend celebrating HENDE 365 Community Days! Here are the results from the competitive events that were held.

HEARTLAND FFA PEDAL TRACTOR PULL

The Heartland FFA sponsored the Pedal Tractor Pull during Community Days on Saturday at  11:00 A.M. Fifty kids signed up to participate, ages ranging from four to eleven years old. Lil Red Dragin’ provided the tractors and the weights for the kids.

A few FFA officers helped out at the Tractor Pull by keeping track of the distances kids went, placing the contestants, and cheering on the kids. Pat O’Brien, who owns Lil Red Dragin’, along with Riggs Newton and Dan O’Brien, was in charge of all the equipment and resetting the tractor and the weights for each kid.

The top three places in each age group will get a chance to compete at the State Fair.

EGG DROP CONTEST

A telehandler was used on the north end of Main Street on Friday evening, with kids trying their hands at catching an egg without it breaking. The height level was raised with each age group and run-offs. As evidenced by all the smashed eggs on the pavement, it wasn’t that easy! The Henderson Chamber of Commerce sponsored this event, and it was a real hit!
