Henderson, Nebraska, welcomes its first Disc golf course thanks to Aidan Swartzendruber! Disc golf is a growing sport for many to enjoy!
The new 9-hole course in Henderson is located on the Southeast corner of Lakeview Park. The course is free to play and can be played at any time.
“For those who do not know, Disc golf is a growing sport that involves throwing special frisbees toward metal baskets with chains. Like golf, the aim is to get the disc in the basket in as few throws as possible.”
Aidan learned about this sport when he began college in Hesston, Kansas. “I went out and played with some new friends who had never played. We were hooked from the beginning and have been playing ever since.”
Aidan says he loves seeing how many people enjoy this sport, “on any given night, there are kids, families, college students and more out playing.”
Aidan sees this sport as a great way to unite as a community and play a sport everyone loves. “Because of this, I wanted to share the sport with Henderson as an outlet for anyone who wants to play and to grow the sport.”
“The course is playable with updates planned for the future, such as adding tee signs and landscaping.”
Thanks to Aidan Swartzendruber for all his hard work in bringing Disc Golf to the community of Henderson for everyone to enjoy.
