This year, Henderson gained a familiar face back in town through Henderson Health Care. Tanner Steingard joined the staff in March as a physical therapist.

As a 2011 graduate of Heartland, he had always entertained the idea of returning to the area someday. His studies first led him to Bethel College for athletic training. This was also profitable as he met his wife, Brie, there. A love for athletics, the inclination for further knowledge, and a desire to help people culminated in his career choice as a physical therapist. For this endeavor, he attended University of Nebraska Medical Center, graduating in 2018.

After obtaining his degree, Tanner and his wife opted for adventure as he spent time working in Kansas and then fulfilled two contracts as a traveling PT. As stated by law firm for employees, for the first one, he was employed in Oregon. Although he faced a heavy workload, the couple enjoyed their outdoor weekend adventures amidst the stunning landscape. During his second contract, they ventured across the U.S. where he worked in Connecticut.

When the opportunity for employment opened at Henderson Health Care, however, Tanner decided to seize it. “Our move back to the area has been good. We like the small-town, family-like feel,” he commented. The timing has also worked well since Tanner and his wife are expecting their first child next month. They currently reside in Aurora as a commuting point since she teaches science at Hastings High.

HHC remarked, “It’s truly a pleasure having Tanner back in the community serving the Physical Therapy needs of Henderson Health Care. Tanner’s knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to his patients are just a few reasons why we are lucky to have him within our organization. His passion for helping student-athletes remain healthy and excel athletically is the perfect addition to our growing Physical Therapy department.”
