Two Quiz Bowl teams attended the meet at Centennial High School on Monday. Team A, consisting of Ellyn Hall, Lauren Quiring, Tyler Lewis, Kale Wetjen, and Carson Ott finished the day 4-2 and missed the medal round in a sudden death tie breaker. Team B, consisting of Lisa Buller, Aaron Goertzen, Cooper Regier, Tobin Glinsmann, and Timberly Carr finished the day 2-3. There was only one senior competing at this meet. “We are excited for the future,” said Quiz Bowl Coach Heidi Widick.
On Wednesday, members of the cast and crew for “Clue” came after school to work on the set. As of now, the play is still on for March 27 & 28 and tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE. “Clue” is a fun, fast-paced whodunit and shouldn’t be missed! Over 30 students have been working hard since January to get ready for this production.
Of course with the Coronavirus concerns and so many unknowns, events in our community and our school change daily. The school continues to follow advice from the Center for Disease Control as well as the closings mandated by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA). Click Here to read the letter to parents/community members from Heartland Superintendent Brad Best posted on the Heartland Community School Facebook site on March 12.
Since that time, State FFA and State FBLA have been cancelled. Stay tuned to Heartland Community School via Facebook or their website for further information as the days progress.
