There were a great amount of memories made at Henderson’s Community Days this past weekend. On Friday, people of all ages had a blast participating in and watching the parade followed by the streets being filled with kids, ice cream, music, and balloons at Rock the Block. Simultaneously, the golf course was dotted with men and women playing glow golf.
Some highlights of Saturday included Henderson Health Care’s 5K run, holding chickens and bunnies at the Heartland FFA Petting Zoo, a tractor pull, strolling through the craft vendors and snack stands, bouncing on inflatables, and glancing at antique automobiles at the car show. The evening brought a one-mile glow run, a band playing behind Perks, and the infamous firework show.
Sunday held a few closing activities of the weekend with the Community Church Service in the park, a golf tournament at Galaway Creek, and fishing in the afternoon at Lakeview Park.
With some schedule changes and new events this year, it’s safe to say it was one of the best weekends of celebrating our community yet!
