The past two weeks have been history-making for Heartland athletics. Last Thursday the girls won their district final game over Fullerton to advance to the State Tournament in Lincoln with a season record of 21-4. This is the first time as Heartland that the girls team has made it to the State Tournament. Just a few days later on that following Tuesday, the Huskie boys shared the same experience as they grabbed a victory over Nebraska Lutheran securing their trip to Lincoln as well.
What a great accomplishment for the school to be sending both of their basketball teams to State! The girls are scheduled to play at 3:45 p.m. today and the boys will play next Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Lincoln East. Go Huskies!
