Darlene Mae Janzen age 81, of Butterfield, MN died on April 24, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, Mountain Lake Chapel and will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, Mountain Lake Chapel on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 am.
The clergy will be Pastor Nathan Janzen. Interment will be at the Cornerstone Cemetery (formerly EMB) in Mountain Lake, MN.

Darlene Mae (Siebert) Janzen was born on June 2, 1933 to Peter P. and Anna (Peters) Siebert. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1951. After high school, Darlene attended the Kearney State Teachers College and attained her teaching certificate. She taught in a Nebraska country school from 1951-1954, and then worked briefly at General Electric, Back-to-the-Bible and Elgin Watch Co. in Lincoln, NE. On May 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Richard F. Janzen at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, NE. The couple was blessed with four children: Cemlyn, Tamra, Doyle and Nathan. Darlene was a caring wife and mother. After seeing her children start school, she returned to work as a USDA food inspector, retiring in 1998.
Darlene pursued opportunities for learning and especially enjoyed working puzzles of any kind. She was a generous and gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. She will be remembered for her large and well-tended vegetable and flower gardens and for having the best zweiback.
Darlene is survived by her husband Richard; children, Cemlyn (Russell) Larsen of Salcha, AK, Tamra (Charles) Hammell of Sellersville, PA, Doyle (Paula) Janzen of Mt. Lake, MN, Nathan (Kari) Janzen of Centerville, MN; brothers, Darrel (Eleanor) of Luverne, MN, Elvin of Omaha, NE; sisters, Esther Fox of Cedar Park, TX, Carol (Arlen) Epp of Elkhart, IN, Aldena Siebert of Henderson, NE, along with 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Allen and Dennis.
