Mike 3 retThe Henderson Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the speaker for the Celebrate Henderson Chamber Banquet. It is R. Michael Ayars the President of Ayars & Ayars, Inc. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mike is a Lincoln native and graduate from the University of Nebraska. As President of Ayars & Ayars, Inc., Mike is responsible for the oversight of the operations of the firm and it’s subsidiaries with special emphasis on pre-construction services, sales, marketing, and project team development.

Not only is Mike focused on his company and the growth of the business, but he also cares tremendously about his community and is involved with many community organizations. Mike has either been a member or officer of the board for Lincoln Electrical Company, Lincoln City Library Foundation, AGC Nebraska Chapter, ACI Nebraska Chapter, Nebraska League of Conservation Voters, Pershing Auditorium, the Pinnacle Bank Arena, and the Salvation Army. Mike just recently retired from being an active member of the FEMA Lincoln Urban Search and Rescue team which assisted in missions in New York City, the 2002 Olympics held in Salt Lake City, Utah and tornado relief in Kansas.

The 2015 Celebrate Henderson Chamber Banquet is quickly approaching, on Monday, January 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the MB Church. In addition to speaker, Mike Ayars, this year’s banquet will include a meal, business milestone awards and the presentation of the Friend of Henderson Award.

A new addition to the banquet this year is a Silent Auction. Items for all ages and interested will be featured including: a 2015-2016 Heartland Athletics Pass from Heartland Community Schools, a beaded necklace from KVK Jewelry Design, a lighted Husker sign from Eakes Office Supply, a white decor item from Baer’s Furniture, children’s farm toys from York Equipment and much more.

Any business that reached a milestone last year in 2014 can be recognized at the 2015 Chamber Banquet if they contact the Chamber Office prior to the event. Businesses do not need to be Chamber members in order to be recognized, but they do need to serve the Henderson area. Milestone awards will be presented in five year increments.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Banquet is a community celebration and is open to anyone who is interested in attending from community members to business owners, tickets must be purchased by Friday, January 23, at the Chamber Office.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization working toward community improvement through business promotion.
