Henderson Health Care is pleased to announce the construction of a helipad, located west of the Galaway Golf Course, approximately 10 blocks from the Henderson Community Hospital.
The land being used for the helipad was donated by the City of Henderson and a portion of the concrete was donated by Overland Ready Mix of York.
“Helipad†is the term commonly used for helicopter landing pads or landing areas for helicopters. In some emergency situations, a patient must be transferred to another hospital for special treatment. Helicopter transportation is much faster than ambulance transport and can make the difference between life and death in many instances.
This important addition to the Henderson Health Care facility provides surrounding communities with a much-needed resource to ensure that the most critically ill patients receive the care they need in the fastest possible manner.
On July 21, LifeTeam Critical Care Transport of Grand Island made a test landing. This photo shows the LifeTeam pilot, EMT and RN, as well as HHC Director of Nursing, Shelly Amack and HHC Marketing Director, Karen Schotsch.
