Bailey Carr has been busy developing her basketball skills for 10 years. All of her hard work is paying off as she will continue playing a sport she enjoys in college. In April, Carr signed to play as a Panther at York College.
While Carr originally had dreamed of playing soccer in college, when her family moved from York to Henderson, soccer opportunities were no longer available. Since she didn’t particularly enjoy track, basketball was her choice of sport to continue playing.
The decision of where to attend college was easy as Carr had always wanted to go to York College. Her parents, Tim and Tonya Carr, are both alumni of York College. Tim had also been an assistant men’s soccer coach, so Carr was familiar with the atmosphere of the college. Upon visiting a different college, her inclinations were confirmed that York College was the right fit for her.
Carr is looking forward to her college experience and being on her own. On the court, she is excited about bonding with her new team and learning from them as well as her new coaches.
She is planning to major in Secondary Education to become a math teacher and also obtain a coaching endorsement.
