Congratulations to the Heartland Girls Golf Team on a great day at the Gibbon Tournament yesterday.  Below are the results and comments from Head Coach Jon Baehr.

The girls traveled to Gibbon on Tuesday.  This tournament was a little bit different for us to compete in as it was a 3-girl scramble.  There was 9 teams that attended and 19 groups that competed in this tournament.  The competition was pretty good and we did a pretty good job of representing our team.  This tournament was broken down into three divisions.  An A, B, and C division.

Heartland B Team:

Jen Yoder, Kim Stort, and Paige Mestl were the first place finishers.  They had a pretty good day as a whole.  This was a very slow moving tournament as there was a lot of groups on the course.  For the most part this group stayed pretty loose and had fun as they were going around the course and that allowed them to shoot pretty solid scores.  I was happy with their play as the day went on.  Paige Mestl really played very consistently and was very good putting on the greens.  Jen Yoder was also very solid off the tee. Kim Stort found the day to be a bit tougher, but was able to help out in some key spots.

Heartland C Team:

Kaeli Lundstrom, Lydia Quiring, and Kaitlyn Quiring were the C team in the tournament.  Overall, they are getting better, and they are starting to enjoy playing golf a bit more as the year is going on.  Kaeli has really been hitting the ball much better the last week or two and is starting to enjoy the game a bit more.  I think all three freshmen girls have gotten better as the year has gone on.
