The Heartland Huskies came out fighting tonight against the Nebraska Christian Eagles, but the fight did not end in victory as the Huskies were defeated 34-66.

The game was a tight one through the first half as Freshman, Tyler Brown caught a 30 yard touchdown pass from Freshman, Jordan Heinrichs to make the first score of the night.  Brown continued to hang tough on offensive running in a second touchdown in for the Huskies. Senior Michael Brune, then, went on to hold his own as he rushed for a 67 yard touchdown in the second quarter to take the lead 18-16.  Later in the half, Brune returned a kickoff for a 70 yard touchdown to keep the Huskies in the game 26 to 30 to end the half.

The Huskies showed their weakness in numbers in the second half as they began to wear down.  The Eagles took over the scoring as Heartland only found the end zone one more time with three seconds remaining in the game with Freshman, Sheppard Ruybalid running in the touchdown and 2-point conversion to finalize the game 34-66.
