With the end of the school year, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce is busy planning all of the events that will be happening in Henderson this summer.  There is a great schedule of events this year to keep children, youth and adults busy with fun community activities.

The first event to kickoff the summer is the Henderson Community Foundation Golf Tournament on Friday, June 3, at Galaway Creek Golf Course beginning at 1 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for the Henderson Community Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund, which presents at least one scholarship each year to a Heartland Community Schools graduate who shows interest in returning to the communities of Henderson and Bradshaw later in life.  Registration will be taken until the shotgun start, so it is never to late to sign up.

June also marks the start of the 2011 Henderson Farmers Market Season, which takes place on Tuesday evenings from 5-7 p.m. in the downtown park.  With a variety of vendors selling produce, jellies, jams, baked goods soybean mulch and free range eggs, there is something for everyone at this weekly event beginning June 7 and continuing until August 16th.  You can even “like” Henderson Farmers Market on Facebook to receive updates about what will be sold at the Farmers Market each week.

On June 11 you can participate in the Community Wide Garage Sales by selling your treasurers or going to the 30+ garage sales in town that day.  People come to the community from far and wide for this event every year. In order to register your garage sale, contact Ruth Peters at (402) 723-4253.  Maps for the garage sales will be available starting June 9 at Henderson FoodMart.

New this year is the Henderson Community Night at a Lincoln Saltdogs Game on Sunday, June 19, at Haymarket Park at 5:05 pm. This is a great community promotion event as well as a way to celebrate Fathers Day with your family.  Tickets are still available through the Chamber at a reduced rate of $8 per person.  Purchase your tickets at the Chamber Office, located at City Hall, or during the Farmers Market on June 7 and June 14.

We will round out the summer events as we make a splash during Henderson Community Days on July 8 & 9.  This years line up of events will keep you busy both days with a Photo Scavenger Hunt, Main Street Parade, Hamburger Fry, Pool Party, and Dodgeball Tournament on Friday evening.  Saturday, the fun starts with a Pancake Feed at Heritage Park, the 5K and 10K Jr. Auxiliary Jaunt, Men’s Alumni Basketball Tournament, Putt Putt Golf Course, Inflatables, Dunk Tank, Car Show, Golf Tournament, Volleyball Tournament, Chamber BBQ and Concert featuring the Johannas Sisters.

With so many great activities happening this summer, be sure to mark you calendar with each date listed above and contact the Chamber for more information about any of these great events by calling (402) 723-4228 or emailing hchamber@mainstaycomm.net.

  1. dzisiaj kiełbasa „trotylska”Do produkcji wędlin używa się azotanu potasu (tak samo jak chlorku sodu). A azotan potasu używany jest również do produkcji MW. Sam to robiłem jeszcze w szkole podstawowej.A swoją drogą chyba lepiej nie wiedzeć czym dzisiaj faszeruje się żywność.
