As five other Boy’s High School teams rolled into Henderson on Thursday, June 16th, Coach Jonathan Baehr got his own team ready for some good summer ball games.
This was the first year that the basketball program has put a Team Camp like this together. Â Heartland, along with Giltner, High Plains, Deshler J.V., Dorchester and Friend all were participants in the camp.
Overall, Baehr thought the boys team had a good day. “We are learning a lot.  We are making some mistakes, but we are learning from them and getting better as a whole.†he stated.
High Plains is the only other team that Heartland faces during summer league. Â Otherwise, they do not play these teams at all, even during regular season. Â The camp was a really good way to get some experience with unfamiliar teams.
Baehr noted that he felt the team worked hard throughout the day.  “I felt as a whole it was a good day and something we can use as a learning experience.†he said.
