If you’ve driven by Town & Country Boutique this spring you might notice a new greenhouse has “sprouted†up. Owner Shirley Friesen admits to having a green thumb and loves this part of her business. She is excited about her recent expansion and the additional space it will provide for her plant business. With a second greenhouse and storage, Town & Country will be selling a larger selection of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, ornamental baskets and outdoor decorative ironwork items.
It’s been six years since Friesen expanded her gift shop to include an outdoor greenhouse. All of the plants sold at Town & Country are from Country Greenery, a well known greenhouse in Cairo, NE. “I have many customers who tell me they have never purchased such good plants. Their root systems are very large and these plants do very well,†said Friesen.
Orders are being taken for custom-made flower pots for Memorial Day. One look into her greenhouse and it is clear to see that Shirley has a creative flair with plants. She says this is her favorite part of the business–creating very unique custom containers filled with flowers for her customers. She also sells soybean mulch, potting soil, decorative ironworks and ceramic pots.
Inside her boutique is full of a variety of silks, Bridgewater Candles, Fair Trade coffee, tea, and chocolate. Each Holiday season is reflected in her boutique but Christmas is her favorite time of the year when she carries a large inventory of unique Christmas decorations. Town & Country Boutique is located on the North edge of Henderson at 1240 17th Street and is a great place to stop this spring for your outdoor decorating needs.
