It seemed as though the Huskies came out to prove a point tonight against the Harvard Cardinals in their 60-45 win.  The tempo was kicked up a notch from last week and when the Huskies took the lead to end the first quarter, they never turned back.  The team looked more alive and was aided by the return of starter, Jesse Nissen, who sat out the last game with a foot injury.  There were also three fresh faces on the roster for the Huskies tonight (Seth Schaldecker, Jordan Gibson, and Michael Brune), whom all saw playing time.  The student section was even fired up by the team’s additions and the level of play.

The Huskies started firing on all cylinders with tough defense creating turnovers.  From there, the team got hot from the perimeter with Nissen and Spencer Friesen hitting some big shots from the outside.  Tanner Steingard did work down low for the Huskies, both offensively and defensively.  Friesen led the team with 21 points while Nissen and Steingard had 14 points apiece.

The game ended with the feeling that the Huskie boys were just warming up and left the fans anxiously awaiting this weekends games.  The team plays at Sandy Creek on Friday and returns home Saturday to play Hampton.
