Huskie boys lose to the Central City Bison 37-42 in the consolation game of the Heartland Holiday Basketball Tournament. It was a hard pill to swallow because the Huskies led most of the game, but when the final buzzer rang, they fell short.
The team was led in scoring by Tanner Steingard with 11 points while Jesse Nissen added ten points.
The Huskie girls also lost in the championship game against the Milford Eagles 50-58. The team, however, played some of their best basketball this season. Sarah Brune played great defense while Mikaelyn Dick hit four three-point shots and ending the game with 26 points. Ashton Kroeker also added ten points.
The girl’s team held tough all four quarters, but could not quite get the win and received second place in the holiday tournament.
The teams will play again at home January 8th against Cross County.
