It was just too little too late for the Huskies Girls against the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals tonight for the first round sub-district game.  The Huskies lost 27-38 and their season has come to a close.

The team started out slow on the score board scoring just 12 points through the first three quarters.  In the fourth quarter, the team fought to come back with Mikaelyn Dick driving the baseline to find the hoop and ended the night with 10 points.  It was senior, Tori Bittinger that really stepped up for her final game as a Huskie tonight getting hot from just inside the three point line and finishing the night with a team leading 12 points.  Bittinger also added some hard work on the defensive side.  She finished her basketball career at Heartland strong.  However, the run in the fourth quarter was not enough for the Huskies and their season ended with a 9-12 record.

The team had a tough road this season, but have a lot to look forward to in their upcoming seasons with numerous returners and more experience under their belts.  Go Huskies!
