The Huskie Boys beat the Blue Hill Bobcats in a 42-41 nail biter to extend their season in Sub-District play.

The game was a battle from the beginning and it took the course of many games the Huskies have played this season.  It stayed close throughout and it came down to the final seconds.  With 21 seconds remaining, the Huskies were down by one and it was Brent Regier that got fouled and was put on the line for two pressure free throws.  He subdued the nerves and both shots were good to put the Huskies up by a point.  The Bobcats returned the favor and tied it up on the foul line as well.  Then, the Huskies got the ball back and Tanner Steingard was again, fouled for another huge pair of free throws with 8 seconds remaining in the game.  Steingard hits one and put the Huskies up by one point; they would keep it that way as they caused a turnover for the Bobcats as the seconds ticked to zero.

The Huskies have had so many close games this season and this one finally fell their way.  Spencer Friesen had another big night scoring with 15 as Lincoln Ruybalid pulled through with 10 points. Cody Brown did his share by taking two charges in the game and the entire team played tough under the boards.

The Huskies will head back to Sandy Creek tomorrow night to play the Sutton Mustangs at 6pm. Reminder that we will be posting live updates from the game tomorrow on our twitter feed at http://twitter.com/heartlandbeat.
