From food, family and friends to never-ending activities scattered throughout the town this last weekend, Henderson was alive and well for this year’s annual Community Days.Things kicked off Friday with numerous events at the pool, Heritage Park, Friesen Gallery and of course, the Grand Parade down Main Street.  The heat didn’t seem to beat anyone as the events were lined with folks attending.

The Dodgeball Tournament was a hit with teams and their ‘fashionable’ garb and hot hands at the tennis courts.Saturday kicked off with a Pancake Feed and the Jaunt.  This was followed by more great food, the Alumni Basketball Tournament and the unforgettable Giant Inflatable Water Slide in the Downtown Park.  The Show and Shine Car Show was a huge success this year with over 100 entries.  The night concluded with a concert in the park and a sand volleyball tournament.

Just when you thought this weekend could not possibly hold any more exciting events, Sunday came around and the Golf Tournament began.  The outrageous heat did not keep the 28 two-man teams from attending.  The scramble started at noon and those braving the heat were swinging in the sun until almost 5pm.

This year’s Henderson Community Days was a great time in Henderson.  Thanks to all who helped plan and organize events and to all the sponsors for their support.  A huge thanks to the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and Kelsey Bergen for all the hard work you did to organize the entire weekend.  It was fun and until next year…
