Despite windy conditions at the Class C-7 District Track Meet at Wood River on Thursday, the Heartland boys scored 76 points, tying for runner-up with Grand Island Central Catholic. The girls scored 20 points and placed 10th overall.
Heartland had ten athletes who qualified for the state competition. Eight boys, plus two alternates and two girls, will be going to Omaha next Friday and Saturday to compete at the Class C State Track Meet! The boys’ 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams both qualified for the state meet.
“Heartland had a great day at districts, and despite windy conditions, our athletes fought through adversity. I am proud of all the track athletes for having a successful season. We are excited to see how our athletes compete at the state meet next week,” said Heartland Head Coach Christa Lindsay.
