Four Corners Press Release
This spring, we invite you to take small steps toward better health. Join us in celebrating Move More Month during April, Walk at Lunch Day on Tuesday, April 30, and Screen-Free Week from May 5 to 11. These events are great ways to feel better, connect with others, and make healthy habits part of your daily life.
April is Move More Month
During April, we encourage everyone to move more and sit less. Movement can be simple, like walking, stretching, dancing, or playing outside. When we move more, we:
- Have more energy
- Sleep better
- Feel less stressed
- Improve our overall health
You don’t need special equipment or a gym. Just start with a few minutes a day and build from there. Try walking with a friend, dancing in your living room, or joining a group activity in your community.
Walk at Lunch Day – Tuesday, April 30
Walk at Lunch Day is a fun and easy way to add movement to your day. On Tuesday, April 30, take a break from work or school and go for a walk during lunchtime. A short walk can help you:
- Feel more focused
- Improve your mood
- Get closer to your health goals
Walk alone, with friends, coworkers, classmates, or family—every step counts!
Screen-Free Week – May 5 to 11
After we get moving in April, let’s unplug for a bit in May! Screen-Free Week is a chance to turn off screens we use for fun—like TV, video games, or social media—and enjoy more time with people and activities we care about.
During Screen-Free Week, you can:
- Play outside
- Read a book
- Cook a meal with family
- Try a new hobby
It’s okay if you can’t go totally screen-free. Even small changes make a big difference.
Let’s move more, sit less, and reconnect with ourselves and each other!
