Galaway Golf Course in Henderson looks great for early spring and is greening up with the warmer weather. The markers, ball washers, and sand buckets are out as well.
The Galaway Creek Golf Course pro shop in Henderson is officially open and ready for the new golfing season. There’s been plenty of early spring golfing at Galaway, but now, with the pro shop open, the golf season is in “full swing.”
New this year at the pro shop will be a point-of-sale computer and tee time system that will be working by the first of May. “It will be a process of utilizing the system for tee times, and the first step will be using it for weekend tee times,” said Board member Jim Mestl.
This year, the calendar will include a new Friday night Couples League. It will be a scramble format for six weeks, and interested couples may sign up at the pro shop. The Ladies League on Tuesday evenings will change from six to ten weeks long this year.
The pro shop offers golf cart rentals, membership information, beverages and snacks, logoed apparel, and league schedule signups. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to dusk, Saturday from 9 a.m. to dusk, and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to dusk.
A much-needed improvement on the course this year is replacing one of the wooden bridges across the creek on Hole #4 with a metal one. If the metal bridge works out, according to Jim Mestl, they will proceed with replacing additional bridges on the course.
Annual memberships can be purchased at the pro shop, as well as cart shed rentals. Here are the green fee rates for this year:
