Heartland Huskie Girls & Boys Swept by Sandy Creek Cougars

The Heartland Huskies traveled to Sandy Creek with a matchup against the Cougars and came away with losses on Friday night. The girls lost 32-54 and the boys 41-62. The Huskie girls drop five in a row and are 5-9 after this loss. They were missing Junior starter Mia Hiebner for the game. The leading scorer for the Huskies was Emersyn Oswald, who scored 15 points. Leading the Cougars with 21 points was VonSpectelsen and Skalka with 19.

The Heartland boys got off to a great start and led the Cougars after the first quarter 21-16. They suffered a scoring drought in the second and fourth quarters and were held to five points each quarter. Wetjen led the Huskies with 13 points, followed by Goertzen with 9. Sandy Creek seniors Ethan Shaw and Jack Clark led the scoring for the Cougars with 17 and 15 points. Luis Alvarez was out for the Huskies against Sandy Creek. This loss pushes the Huskies to a 3-11 record.
