York County Press Release

YORK COUNTY – York County Sheriff Sergeant Taylor Samek says a Colorado man was found with fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and a knife at a rural York County farm.

“On Dec. 18, at approximately 4:43 a.m., deputies with the York County Sheriff’s Office were detailed to an address in rural York County on a report of suspicious activity. The reporter stated he noticed a pickup truck parked on a relative’s farm ground, which was out of place. He attempted to make contact with a male in the driver’s seat; however, he was unresponsive,” Samek said.

“Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the occupant of the pickup truck and discovered the male was using illicit narcotics. A search of the male’s pickup truck uncovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and a knife. The male was transported to York General Hospital for treatment and then lodged at York County Corrections.”

Sgt. Samek said Tyler Anderson, 42, of Leadville, Colorado, was arrested on the following charges: possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a peace officer, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana (second offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Samek said he wanted to “stress the importance of community members reaching out to us whenever they encounter something they believe is suspicious, even if they believe it isn’t a big deal. All too often, it turns out to be somebody in need of help or someone who is doing something that they shouldn’t be. Community members can always call 402-362-4927 to report suspicious activity.”
